More Product Info

Hair on Hide Window Collars are 1¼" wide and feature our full grain bridle leather, a stitched leather keeper, a heavy duty black roller buckle and d-ring.

Hair on Hide pieces are purchased in small batches (remnants from other leather workers) to ensure a sustainable cycle for both Cross Winds Leather and other makers.

All pieces contain real fur - please use caution if you have any allergies to livestock.

Each batch contains fur pieces that vary in color and character. Pieces also vary in size (one piece may yield 8 collars, while another may only yield 1).

Hair on Hide Window Collars are just as durable as our other gear, however, extra caution and care is required as the fur is delicate. While the inlay design helps protect the fur from being rubbed and limits shedding, we suggest refraining from use in harsh conditions (rain, snow, mud etc.).

Care Instructions

Whenever the collar is not in use, please store in a dry and shaded area.

Hair on Hide Fur:

If the inlay pieces contain dust or dirt, use a dry toothbrush or similar soft bristled tool to gently brush off the debris with the grain of the fur.

Please do not brush when debris is damp. Once dry debris is loosened, simply shake off the excess. You can also use a hairdryer or small blower on a low to no heat setting to remove excess debris.

If staining occurs, you may spot clean the inlays with a dampened cloth and gently wipe with the grain of the fur. Do not saturate the fur.

Leather:

Please use the same care instructions we suggest; however, try not to get product on the fur, if this does happen, please use a dry cloth to gently wipe off excess product. Conditioners will not damage the fur, but the fur should not be saturated.

How to Measure

Decide where you want the collar to lay on your dog’s neck. Measure around that area using a soft tape measure or a thin string and then compare with a regular tape measure.

When choosing the collar size, it’s best to make sure that your measurement is near the middle of the range.

Please contact us for custom sizing.
